I remember when Lily Allen and T-Pain dropped “5 O’clock” back in 2011 and it was easily one of my favourite songs. It made me more of a fan of Lily and had me looking back in her discography bumping “Alfie” many a few years late.
When Lily came through last month with “Trigger Bang” – her first single release since 2014 – I jumped to get a listen, especially since she teamed up with U.K. rapper, Giggs. I was instantly into the song but became even more of a fan after the official video release.
The video chronicles those all too familiar late nights often followed by a morning walk of shame. The visuals bring the track to life with its youthful energy and upbeat hooks. As with the lyrics to the song, the video shares the vulnerable side of both artists as they reflect on their younger days. As the video fades, it shows Lily Allen and Giggs meeting up at a diner, seemingly reminiscing.
Lily announced that her forthcoming album No Shame will be arriving early summer.
